The Happening is a warning to stop watching Shyamalan’s films

M. Night Shyamalan still has the coolest sounding name in Hollywood, but his film, The Happening is equally as bad as its title. In the beginning, the film is creepy and mysterious with unexplained suicides taking place in New York City, but then the actors begin talking, and the film ends up killing itself rather quickly. Eliot Moore (Mark Wahlberg) and his wife, Alma (Zooey Deschanel) are an unlikeable couple forced to flee the city as mass panic sets in. The two actors are horribly cast. Wahlberg is supposed to be a high school science teacher, but his performance is more like a gym teacher given a textbook and told to give it a try. Deschanel is an unfaithful wife that would rather be with her lover than the guy who is going to figure out this tragedy through scientific observation and spitballing. I know crazy, right? The Happening is a warning to stop watching Shyamalan’s films.
