Sex Education class is one of the most uncomfortable and embarrassing forty minutes of a seventh grader’s life. The short film, Late Bloomers captures the fear, immaturity, and mortification of one student’s experience in this ten minute over the top comedy.  Director Craig Macneill takes writer Clay McLeod Chapman script and creates an ode to puberty that uses a voice over technique to tell this hilarious story. Macneill casts Chapman to narrate his own words, which is a strong choice because he skillfully crescendos to an unforgettable climax that will leave some audiences laughing out loud while others put their hand to their agape mouths in disbelief. The visual style captures a wonderful hue that gives this film an added character. Late Bloomer scores high marks in its treatment of this subject.
