Apricot is fresh and leaves audiences wanting another taste

APRICOT

Often, a question will lead to an answer, but sometimes questions will lead to more questions that may or may not be answered. In the ten minute short film, Apricot, a man named Marcel (Ewen Leslie) is on a first date with Madeline (Laura Gordon). The couple seems to be enjoying themselves, until Marcel asks Madeline about her first love. Gordon wonderfully plays these moments and makes the audience feel her gamut of emotions. She wants to be nice and liked by the mysterious man, but at the same time his questions leave her feeling uncomfortable and insecure. I was impressed with performance and wanted to see more. Writer/Director Ben Briand successfully captures these awkward moments and tells a beautiful story about love.  Apricot is fresh and leaves audiences wanting another taste.
